The purpose of the National Association of Towns and Townships (NATaT) is to represent the interests of towns and townships before the law and policy makers of the national government. NATaT seeks flexibility in federal laws and regulations to help small governments with limited resources and capacities fulfill federal requirements. NATaT serves the interests of 85 percent of the 39,000 general purpose local governments that serve populations of fewer than 10,000.
